
The World Trick Shot Championships is a worldwide championship of trick shot pool. It was held on snooker tables for the first time in 1991. Matchroom Sport organised the event. Matchroom Sport organised the event. Players were evaluated on technical merit and presentation. The competition was held at Celtic Manor in 2005.
During the 1970s, several international professional billiards players started performing trick shots. These players were awarded prizes including the World Championship of Artistic Pool (ICCP), the International Challenge Cup and the Swedish Championship. Trick shot, a form of pool, is now a sanctioned sport under the World Pool-Billiard association. Trick shot artists not only play in tournaments but also teach the sport to others.
Mike Massey was a famous trick shot artist in the world since the late 70s. He has been a part of many games with celebrities such as Jason Gedrick, Paul Sorvino and others. Massey has been an important figure in the sport both as an instructor, and as a fundraiser. His performances at Wentworth's Waste Management Pheonix Open as well as the Volvo PGA At Wentworth has earned him a high level of visibility.

Mike Massey taught professional athletes such as Scott Baiin, Dean Cain, James Tolkan, and James Tolkan. He has competed in several international professional competitions. In 2002, he was part of Team U.S.A. which won the trick shot championship world title. The team also performed at HSBC Championships Abu Dhabi, and at Commercial Bank Qatar Masters.
Jim Sommer is another amazing trick shot artist. He has been a participant in international Trick-shot turns and has also traveled to America to compete in the US Nationals. He won the US Nationals Artistic Pool Championship.
The World Trick Shot Artists Association (WTSAA) is an organization of trick shot artists from all over the world. Paul Gerni, world champion trick shot artist, is the founder of the association. There are 160 tricks in the WTSAA book. These tricks include the machine gun shot and the quick-fire shot. Other trick shots include the "pro" shot, the "extreme" cut shot, and the "prop" shot.
Tim "The Dragon" Chin, the 2022 US Nationals Artistic Pool Champion, won the prestigious title by defeating Jason "The Michigan Kid" Lynch in the finals. Both Lynch and Chin are WPA World Ranked. Lynch is still an Ohio State student, but Chin has the advantage as a seasoned professional.

On October 9-10, Trick Shot Magic will host its next event. The competition will feature eight international superstars of the sport. The purse is worth $40,000. Each player will get to choose between six and ten of the predetermined shots. Each player will get three chances at completing the shot once they have chosen their favorites. Each player who makes a successful shot earns a point.
