
Ralph Greenleaf, a billiards enthusiast, has quickly become one of America's top players despite only starting a few years ago. He has already taken part in some three cushion billiards tournaments and has placed in the top 10 at the national 3-cushion billiards tournament in Illinois last month. He also visits a local billiards club every month in the Twin Cities.
Two of the most highly ranked billiards players in Vietnam are Tran Quyet Chien and Nguyen Quyet Nguyen. Both are among the top ten players in the world. Both players are currently ranked within the top eight. Tran Quyetchien is ranked number seven. Both players are the tournament's defending champions. Ngo Dinh Nai is ranked at 29. Jeremy Bury of France is ranked number 18.
The next tournament to be held in Vietnam will be the 3-Cushion Carom Billiards Continental Cup on December 20-22 in Seoul. The tournament will feature eight top Vietnamese players. The total prize amount will be around 160,000 USD. Other events and tournaments will be held throughout year.

The United States Billiard Association or USBA is the official governing authority for carom pool in the United States. Each year, the National Championship is held by the USBA. The top two players from the National Championship will represent the USA at the Pan-American Championship.
The three cushion billiards tournaments that were held at Madison 3-Cushion Bingo Club were fiercely contested and competitive. The tournament had two flights, each with six players. The tournament was handicapped, so the first five players in each flight advanced to the semi-finals. The top 12 players in each flight will receive $7,000. The tournament was sponsored by First Business Bank of Madison and the tournament director was Bruce Venzke, the famous cue games legend.
The UMB (Union of Billiards and Carom Billiards) sponsored the tournament. This is the official governing body of 3-cushion billiards around the world. UMB also organizes numerous recurring tournaments each season. On the UMB Turnier Schedule, you will find information about upcoming events.
The tournament was held in Binh Duong's south province. Eight teams competed over three nights. The top two teams advance to the semi-finals, while the third and fourth teams will advance to the quarterfinals. The final round of the tournament will be single elimination. The Las Vegas World Cup 3-cushion Billiobilliards Tournament winner will receive a cash award of $20,000. This is the first appearance of a Vietnamese representative in the semi-finals.

The 3-Cushion Billiards Tournament is a relatively new game, but has already grown in popularity in many parts of the world. It was also featured in the animated Disney short film Donald In Mathmagic Land. It was also featured as a character in Seven Billiard Tables 2007, a Spanish film that won the Goya Award.
