The rules of table shuffleboard can seem a little confusing to those just starting. It is a good idea, if you are new to the game of table shuffleboard, to get familiar with the basic rules before starting to play. There are several versions of shuffleboard. Each version has its own set of rules. These can include Crazy Eight, a game that is a little more challenging than the average version. It uses a unique scoring system that awards points in different ways.
The first thing you should know about table shuffleboard is that each player only gets one chance to score in a round. The game is decided by the player who scores the most points, usually between 15 and 21. These players then have the option of shooting a second round. A player can also shoot the "hammer", the final shot of a round.
The first goal in a shuffleboard game is to get your puck to land closest to the end of the table. To do this, move the puck from one edge to the other. You will have to slide it along the edge to do this. When you're ready to shoot, it's important to stand behind your opponent and not directly in front of him or her.

After your puck lands, it's a good idea to push it into the right spot to score. Once the puck has landed in the desired spot, it can be pushed forward or backwards to ensure it scores. Keep your feet on the ground behind you table.
On their tables, players have three scoring areas. Each zone award players different amounts. For example, one point is awarded for every puck that lands within the zone's first zone. The second zone gives two points per puck and the third section has three. The puck must cross over the line between the "2", or "3", areas in order to score in this third zone.
The last scoring area, located at the bottom of the table across from the foul line, is the one that crosses the middle. The foul line is out of play for pucks that are not cleared. If the puck lands in the correct area, it is worth zero points.
Pucks are numbered. If their puck is not on the line, players can inspect it by standing up above it. They can also push pucks into better scoring positions to increase their chances of winning.

Pucks are weighted and come in sets of eight. They measure approximately 2.3125 in wide. While recreational pucks are typically 12 ounces in weight, they can range between 11 and 15 grams. In general, smaller pucks should be used on games that are played on narrow surfaces. Larger pucks, however, are best for larger surfaces.
Knock Off, which is playable with four people, is one of the most popular versions of shuffleboard. Crazy Eight is another popular variant, similar to classic games.
