Century breaks are considered the best skill level in snooker. A century break is defined as a period of 25 consecutive balls where the player is able to pot at least 100 points. The maximum break is 147. However, many players have reported higher break.

Alex Higgins is widely considered to be one of greatest comeback stories ever in snooker history. Higgins started as an amateur in Northern Ireland but made a mark in the world. He was awarded an MBE in recognition of his services to the sport after he won the 1984 World Doubles Championship and 1983 UK Championship. His matches became legendary and were televised.

Ronnie O'Sullivan has been the most successful player in snooker. He has the highest number of centuries and the most ranking titles. He holds both the record for most career centuries and fastest maximum breaks. There are no other snooker players who have won more Triple Crowns. Steve Davis was one the greatest snooker players in the 1980s and 1990s. During his heyday, he held the World Championship for fifteen straight years. Before he retired, he held the number one rank for seven seasons.

Stacey Hillyard, another legend in snooker, holds the record for most centuries played in one match. She has won five professional tournaments and achieved the most centuries during a single season in 1994. This includes a 114 break in a match against Kyren Wilson.

Joe Davis and Willie Thorne are among the notable names on the list. Michael White is one of many snooker professionals to have compiled a total of over 500 breaks. Jimmy White and Anthony Hamilton are others.

Many other players have collected a total 100 centuries in their snooker lives. The list above is updated regularly throughout the season to include players who have reached the threshold of 80 or more. Players who are tied in most centuries will have their records sorted by most centuries from previous seasons.
